The European WIN Meeting 2020, (W)Innovation that works, was held in Paris last week, on 23-24 January. The event focused on innovation within the market research sector, and many interesting projects and insightful experiences were presented. The event was sponsored by E-Tabs and Synomia.

Some direct experiences from Sandrine Seksik (Strategy & Consumer Insight, McDonald’s France Services) were shared: her speech on “Why we need market research agencies to innovate” was followed by Anne Sophie Damelincourt‘s (Esomar) presentation on “The Innovation Challenges“.

The first workshop session focused on new data: Philippe Liewyllin (BVA Uptowns) presented “Social media data: shoots for change” while Susanna De Luca (BVA Doxa) presented “Data multi-source: Listening the Voice of the Costumers”.

For the first time, the “Start to WIN” award was assigned to one of the six Start-ups taking part in the event: they all presented their project related to innovations ideas in the market research sector. Agency Episto was awarded and was therefore also invited to the WIN Annual Conference 2020 in Lima.

Vilma Scarpino opened the second day of the WIN Meeting presenting some updates on WIN. The second workshop session focused on Artificial Intelligence: Emilie Dumas (Franck Selve, BVA/IVS) presented “Passive measurement/AI” and Johnny Heald (ORB International) presented “Detecting fraud with a combination of AI and Human Intelligence”.

All these presentations were an insightful starting point for the discussion that followed: participants and WIN members took part in a roundtable discussion on how WIN can innovate, a session facilitated by Heiner Junker. The event was then closed with a Design Thinking session with Okoni introduced by Brice Jehanno.

We thank all the European participants and the sponsors E-Tabs and Synomia, and we are looking forward to meeting all WIN members during the next WIN events!
